The Selected Stories

Congratulations to the 13 soon-to-be-published Grannie Annie authors! What an honor for these young writers to be published in The Grannie Annie's 17th collection. In spite of the many challenges faced again this school year by students, families, and teachers, The Grannie Annie received 128 historical family stories from authors in four US states — and each story touched our volunteer readers in its own special way.

In addition to being published on this website, this year's annual collection of historical family stories will be available as a free PDF. The thirteen memorable stories included in this 17th annual collection will also be shared through Facebook and Twitter throughout the upcoming year. Please watch this page for updates as the celebration continues!

Celebrate the Stories!

The stories have arrived! A special thanks to the students, families, and teachers who have submitted historical family stories during what proved to be another challenging year.

This year's stories arrived from the states of California, Missouri, North Carolina, and New Jersey. The Grannie Annie's committee of volunteer readers have already begun the process of reading and enjoying the 128 stories received this year.

Stories will be read and reread as the volunteer readers decide which stories will be published (on this website) in the 17th collection of Grannie Annie family stories. The titles of the stories chosen for publication and the names of their authors will be announced on this page in March. You can also follow the news on The Grannie Annie's Facebook page.

For now, let the celebration continue! What does your Grannie Annie celebration include? Visit "The Grannie Annie Extension Activities" for inspiration, or send us your ideas to be added to the page.
